The experience of using proxy to access AI projects is not good. Many times, the first reaction is that there is something wrong with proxy. This judgment is natural, but the reality is often more complex. This article would like to help you clarify: what proxy can do, what it cannot do, and what factors affect the access experience of AI projects.
Let’s first talk about the positioning of proxy service
The XVPN proxy service solves the problem of cross-border transmission, allowing your requests to reach overseas target servers stably. As for whether the target platform is willing to trust you and whether to release the request after receiving the request, this is another matter. proxy cannot determine the risk control results of the target platform.
1. proxy is a shared service. What does it mean?
When using proxy, you are not taking an exclusive channel. There are many people using the same node at the same time, and everyone's requests go out from the same exit IP. Different people, different devices, and different behaviors will be mixed together.
Give an example
Imagine an office building sharing a house address to send and receive express delivery. What the courier sees is always the address of this building. He does not know which company sent it, how many times it has been sent, or whether there have been any problems before. Using proxy to access the AI platform is similar. What the platform sees is the node IP, not you, the specific person.
The cost of proxy is mainly spent on transmission reliability, line stability, and the ability to protect at critical moments. Helping you with the admission review of a certain AI project is beyond the scope of proxy’s service capabilities.
2. Don’t attribute all problems to proxy IP
Many users tend to attribute all problems encountered in accessing AI projects to "proxy IP does not work". However, there are actually quite a few factors involved that affect whether a request can be successfully accepted:
- IP type and source:Whether the computer room IP or residential IP has been used by a large number of people has a huge gap in credibility.
- Device fingerprint:Browser, operating system, language settings, time zone and other information will all affect the platform's judgment of the request environment.
- Account history:The account's previous behavior and whether risk control has been triggered will all affect the treatment of the current request.
- Request behavior pattern:Frequency, time distribution, content characteristics, abnormal patterns can be easily identified.
- The current risk control status of the platform:Sometimes it’s not your problem but the target platform itself that is tightening its policies.
The detection mechanism of the target platform usually does not only look at IP. Replacing IP alone may not necessarily solve all problems; similarly, if IP is not replaced, it does not mean that the problem must be with IP.
3. If you want to use AI projects more stably, there are currently more effective ideas.
If you have high requirements for the access quality of AI projects, a relatively effective way is to use proxy to process the transmission section, and then use your own independent residence IP as the exit, and the two form a link.

Why can't we just use residential IP instead of proxy?
Service providers who simply sell residential properties IP usually sell only an exit address, and do not guarantee the reliability and stability of this section of network transmission, nor have they the ability to provide guarantees. You may get a trusted exit IP, but the request has been packet lost, timed out, or disconnected before it reaches the target server. This part is exactly what the XVPN proxy service is doing. Each of them manages a section, and any experience that is missing will be discounted.
Why doesn't XVPN just do both?
The purchase cost of residential IP is quite high. Just maintaining the transmission reliability, stability and security capabilities of the current proxy service itself is already a very expensive matter, and this can only be achieved based on the sharing model.
If a completely exclusive dedicated line service is to be provided, the cost will be of a completely different magnitude, which is no longer within the reach of ordinary personal consumption. Follow-up plan
XVPN will continue to evaluate exclusive services and native IP services. We are still communicating with multiple parties on resource issues and have not yet reached the stage where they can be implemented. Even if such services are launched in the future, the cost will not be cheap. This is determined by resource costs, not a simple pricing strategy.
About technical support
For the specific configuration method of the proxy chain, XVPN is currently unable to provide one-on-one technical guidance. In this regard, users need to explore or consult relevant information on their own. We will continue to consider whether we can make it more convenient in the future, but there is currently no clear timetable.
4. These are really not easy for novices
There are indeed barriers to understanding the concepts of proxy, residential IP, and links. XVPN will try to explain the relationship clearly, but there is no way to make the matter itself simple. If you don’t want to delve into these for now, the proxy service can still guarantee basic cross-border access; it’s just that on projects with stricter audits such as Claude Code, the experience may vary. This is not a problem that one party can solve alone.
