Mihomo Windows configuration tutorial: import subscription, system proxy and TUN
If you are using the XVPN Windows native client, just log in directly; this page is for advanced users who choose the Mihomo series client.
Before you start
Operation steps

Install the client that matches your system
Confirm the Windows architecture and installation package source. After the installation is completed, start it with normal permissions. Only when the TUN driver is turned on, follow the client prompts to grant administrator permissions.

Add subscription URL
Log in to the XVPN member center and copy the subscription address, select import from URL on the configuration or subscription page, and give the configuration an easily identifiable name.

Update and select strategy
After updating the subscription, enter the proxy page and select the automatic strategy first; then manually switch a single node when you need to troubleshoot the line.

Choose a takeover method
Only browsers and regular applications can use system proxy first; turn on TUN when you need to cover applications that do not follow system proxy. Do not run other tools that will modify the system proxy at the same time.

Authentication and exit
Confirm that the webpage is available. Before exiting the client, shut down the system proxy or TUN to avoid leaving proxy causing Windows to show that there is a network but cannot open the web page.
After completion, check like this
- Subscription update time is correct
- proxy strategy selected
- System proxy or TUN has only one main takeover method
- The system network can be automatically restored after exiting.
FAQ
What is the difference between systems proxy and TUN?
System proxy only affects applications that follow system settings; TUN takes over more traffic at the network layer, but is more sensitive to drivers, DNS and other network software.
Why can’t I access the Internet after exiting the client?
Usually the system proxy has not been restored. Re-open the client and close the system proxy, or go to the Windows proxy settings to close the manual proxy.
