Troubleshooting

Unable to access the Internet after TUN mode is turned on: Check these 7 items in order

Don't reinstall repeatedly at first. First determine the basic network, account, node, DNS, permissions and software conflicts, and usually you can quickly locate the level of the problem.

Before you start

First confirm that the basic network is normal, the account is valid, and update to the current stable version of the client. Subscription addresses are private credentials, please do not take screenshots to make them public or forward them to others.

Operation steps

  1. 01

Confirm that the basic network is normal after closing TUN

Shut down TUN and system proxy first. If you cannot open the web page at this time, the problem lies with the local network and not the proxy client.

  2. 02

    Confirm account status

Check whether the package has expired and the traffic has been used up, and then manually renew the subscription.

  3. 03

Switch between two nodes in different regions

Don't just test one node. Select two regions and try again to distinguish single-node exceptions from local exceptions.

  4. 04

Avoid multiple tools taking over the network at the same time

Exit other VPN, proxy, accelerators, virtual network cards and network filtering software, and then reopen TUN.

  5. 05

    Check permissions and drivers

Windows installs or repairs the TUN service as prompted by the client; macOS allows network expansion; Android re-grantes VPN permissions.

  6. 06

    Check DNS

If IP can be accessed but the domain name cannot be opened, focus on checking the client DNS settings and the encryption DNS, filters or security software in the system.

  7. 07

    Restart after clean exit

First close TUN in the client, then exit the client and restart the system; this is easier to restore proxy and routing than forcefully ending the process.

After completion, check like this

  • The basic network is normal when proxy is closed
  • Tested on at least two nodes
  • There is no second VPN running simultaneously
  • No persistent DNS or permission errors in client logs

FAQ

Can I reset the network directly?

What should I do if I still can't connect?

Save the occurrence time, system version, client version and desensitized logs before contacting customer service; do not send subscription URL, password or complete token.
